Chemical Peels

Turn Back The Clock With A Medical-Grade Chemical Peel

Peel back layers of dull, rough skin with a Medical Grade Chemical Peel for a smoother and more radiant you. Aging, sun exposure, environmental pollution, and acne can cause our skin to appear damaged and older than we really are.

Our medical-grade chemical peels (5 to choose from!) are a professional resurfacing procedure that safely exfoliates damaged skin. Although chemical peels are mostly used on the face, they can also be used to improve the skin on your back and chest.

Chemical Peels Can Improve And Reduce The Appearance Of:

  • Dull, Devitalized Skin
  • Acne
  • Acne Scarring
  • Uneven Texture
  • Enlarged Pores
  • Fine Lines
  • Sun Damage
  • Age Spots
  • Melasma

During the procedure, we’re treating approximately 30-40 microns of the epidermis (the epidermis on the face is 100 microns deep). This allows us to achieve a superficial smoothing of skin irregularities, clearing breakouts, softening fine lines, and fading pigment.

After your skin is cleansed and prepped, a solution is applied to the skin. This solution is left on for 3-4 hours post treatment at which time you can wash the treated area. Over the next few days, any damaged skin will eventually slough off and peel. As the top layer sheds, signals are sent to the living cells below to multiply, move up, and make more hyaluronic acid. The skin underneath is smoother, younger, and glowing.

Benefits of Medical Grade Chemical Peels:

  • Quick
  • Non-Invasive
  • Little To No Discomfort
  • Most Effective Treatment For Melasma
  • Better Absorption Of Skincare Products

FAQs:

Everyone’s skin is different. At our Edmonton Clinic, chemical peels are customized to your individual skin goals and the amount of downtime your social life can handle.

With our medical grade peels, you can expect the peeling process to begin 24-48 hours after your treatment. Once you begin peeling, you’ll have ‘skin sloughing’ what is similar to a sunburn peel for 2-3 days, followed by flakiness for another 2-3 days.

If this is too much downtime for you, let us know and we can customize a lighter treatment that won’t involve all that peeling.

No, the procedure isn’t painful. However, you may experience some tingling and discomfort for a few minutes when the solution is first applied. These sensations will dissipate by the time you leave the clinic.

We do our best throughout the treatment to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible, which may involve fanning you!

Yes! In fact, it’s the most effective treatment for melasma when paired with proper skincare. Unfortunately, there isn’t a permanent cure for this hormonal condition, which can be triggered by sun exposure, birth control, pregnancy, and even heat.

In as little as 2-3 Chemical Peels you’ll notice a dramatic improvement of pigmented skin. To help maintain your treatment results, we’ll also recommend homecare products to suppress the overactive melanin and prevent your melasma from reoccurring.
