Spring is finally here! You’ve been cooped up all winter due to COVID, and it’s time to get your winter nails manicured, polished and ready for spring with these three hot spring nail trends!
At our North Edmonton nail salon and medical spa, we offer a variety of services to meet all your nail and skincare needs. Our staff is expertly trained to provide both men and women with relaxing and rejuvenating manicures and pedicures that will help you achieve beautiful and healthy hands and feet. We offer gel polish that will elongate the life of your manicure and keep your nail colour glossy, smudge-free, and chip-free.
Many of us have not been to a salon this past year due to COVID. With salons finally re-opened, a trip to our medical spa is a great way to get out of the house for some much-needed relaxation while supporting local businesses. Even for those of us working from home, a trendy manicure can make you feel polished and put-together even if you’re still wearing pyjamas most days. Read on for three trends you'll want to nail this spring.
We love the inspiration of art deco and 80’s lines and patterns, making a comeback this spring. We’re seeing Instagram and Pinterest feeds blowing up with blocky white french tips and minimal lines. Short, minimal, cute nails are practical and stylish, while a long almond shape is also prevalent. Suppose you’re looking for a longer form. In that case, you can grow your nails naturally by protecting them with a gel polish coat to keep them healthier and deter any biting/chewing. The key to an updated french tip: stay away from medium squared ends, and opt for a rounded oval or almond shape. If you’re not ready to get back into the french tip (2010 flashbacks), allover white nail polish is a smart option as well!
Who doesn’t love a bold red nail? We love the timeless statement that brings some spring and summer to your look. Spring 2021, we put the coral and bright neon pink nails away and opt for rose-hued blush nails. When in doubt, think tawny undertones. More importantly, ask your manicurist what colour best flatters your skin tone for a uniquely complimenting nail colour.
Whether you’re looking for a gel polish colour or you prefer natural nails, you can still rock the nude trend this spring and summer. The key? Well-cared-for and manicured nails. Head to a Local nail salon near you to trim your cuticles, buff ridges in nails, trim and round out the shape for a polished look au naturel.
At Glo Skin & Medspa, we offer luxury spa manicures and pedicures, featuring a warm wax wrap that will leave your hands, feet, and nails soft and smooth. Relax with a soothing soak, buffing, nail trim and gentle cuticle push. You can opt to have us paint your toes and fingers or adorn a few drops of cuticle oil and leave them bare and fresh for spring.

Funky and painful nails are nothing to be embarrassed about, and there is no need to live in pain. Here at Glo Skin & Medspa, we are here to take care of those routine hygiene concerns that may have been neglected during the lockdown and get you flip-flop sandal-ready.
One of the most common causes of painful ingrown toenails is improper or lack of nail grooming and trimming. With a professional in charge of the nail clippers, you are less likely to have this problem. In addition to this, your pedicurist can give you sound advice on what kind of shoes you should wear and how you should take care of your feet at home to prevent and treat this painful condition.

How long does nail polish colour last?
You can expect regular polish to start chipping and flaking in just a few days, although gel polish will last for two weeks or more before it starts to grow out or it begins to chip. Nude hues hide chips and new growth more if you are looking for a low-maintenance look.
Are nail salons safe during COVID?
While we encourage patrons to social distance and wear masks whenever possible, we have also taken measures to keep patrons and staff safe during COVID-19. This includes following all provincial mandates and asking patrons to wear a mask, to sanitize and refrain from entering if they are experiencing any COVID-19 Symptoms.
Are manicured and pedicures for men?
Yes, we offer manicure and pedicure services to everyone. Manicures and Pedicures are not exclusive to women and are an excellent form of relaxing and hygienic self-care. Many men find relief from ingrown toe-nails and enjoy getting regular pedicures.
